I've been promoting websites on the internet since 1998. In 2003 I
noticed a perceptible increase in the offerings of all audio internet
products. This was due, no doubt, by the enhanced bandwidth capabilities
of people using the internet.
I also noticed that my local library now sports a new audio books
section! If you want to know "what's happening" in the area of
books in general and information products, a good place to start looking
is at your library. For example, two years ago my librarian ceased
purchasing VHS type videos and began to build up the DVD collection. She
had great vision.
Another way to learn what is at the cutting edge is to watch for
electronic hardware to emerge. Just take a gander at Apple's iPod
product that may be the wave of the future for audio bookphiles. With an
iPod you don't need to buy expensive CD's to play at home or in your
car. Just download the audio books into your iPod and away you go!
Think of the possibilities. You can do your jogging while listening to
Homer's Iliad or a treatise on economic theory. Take your iPod to
your local gym and listen to stock market investment advice on the
treadmill. Feeling lazy? Let a soothing hypnotic audio book download on
hypnosis help relax your body while on your sofa. Do you commute? What a
great time to learn French or Spanish on the train. Are you a student?
Record the lectures and relisten to them.
The subject choices of audio books are enormous and they will only
get larger.
1. Newspapers - Every Weekday you can download an audio edition of The
Wall Street Journal will be delivered to your desktop! Perhaps
you prefer the New York Times.
2. Magazines - Do you like business magazines? Get the Harvard
Business Review or Forbes.
